ADULT ED: ZEN MEDITATION

In the serene silence of the meditation site, practitioners immerse themselves in the present moment, enabling them to tune into the subtle energy and expansiveness of the space as they engage in the profound art of Zen meditation. One breath connecting inner and outer. The practice will take place in James Turrell’s Avaar, an immersive, room-sized installation that explores the artist’s ideas about light, the act of perception, and the physical awareness of both space and place. The group will gather in the ground floor galleries between 5:30 - 5:45 pm, the meditation will begin promptly at 5:45 pm, your punctuality is appreciated. Free and open to all.

Queer Love storytelling workshop

In honor of Pride month, CAS is hosting a free storytelling class, culminating in a storytelling event on the theme of 'Queer Love.' This class is open to local LGBTQIA+ adults, from beginners to seasoned storytellers. Everyone has a story to share, and too often the stories we hear from the LGBTQIA+ community are difficult tales of coming out, or estrangement from loved ones, which can erase and overshadow the joyful stories from the LGBTQIA+ community's narrative. This class will create a safe, encouraging environment to help participants find and share their own stories of 'Queer Love.' Space is limited and registration is required.
